HE ADDED THAT ALTHOUGH THE RESPONSE OF VARIOUS GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENTS IN DEALING WITH THE FLOOD SITUATION WAS GOOD, HE HAD ASKED THE DIRECTOR OF CIVIL ENGINEERING SERVICES ΤΟ UNDERTAKE A THOROUGH REVIEW OF EXISTING FLOOD EMERGENCY PROCEDURES TO SEE WHAT CHANGES COULD BE MADE TO IMPROVE THIS IMPORTANT SERVICE.

FOR
SINCE THE INTRODUCTION OF REVISED CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT FOREIGN DOMESTIC HELPERS IN APRIL 1987, THE IMMIGRATION DEPARTMENT HAS APPROVED 40 APPLICATIONS FOR A CHANGE OF EMPLOYMENT ON THE GROUND PHYSICAL OR SEXUAL ABUSE BY THE EMPLOYERS.
