Mr Purves spent a large part of his civil service career in the former Trade, Industry and Customs Department where he made a significant contribution to the economic success of Hong Kong. He has been Director of Urban Services for the last two and а half years.

Mr Smith joined the Civil Service as an Executive Officer in 1958. He has served in a number of government departments and is an able and caring administrator. He was promoted to Deputy Director of Government Supplies in 1985.

Mr Blanche joined the Overseas Audit Service in 1958 and was appointed as an Auditor to Hong Kong in 1974. He has made 白 considerable contribution to the development of "value for money" audit in Hong Kong.

Mr Brown was recruited in 1980 to strengthen the senior directorate of the Royal Hong
Kong Police Force, with particular responsibility for the support and inspection functions. He has made a very significant contribution to the development of force over the last eight years.

Mr Chan is the officer in charge of all operational sub-units of the Auxiliary Medical Services (AMS). His personal involvement in many AMS Operational activities has promoted а significant increase in effectiveness.
