AMENDMENTS TO THE DRAFT TSUEN WAN OZP
AMENDMENTS TO THE DRAFT TSUEN WAN OUTLINE ZONING PLAN HAVE BEEN PUBLISHED BY THE TOWN PLANNING BOARD IN THE GAZETTE TODAY (FRIDAY).
THE
THE AMENDMENTS ARE TO INCORPORATE THE LATEST CHANGES IN LAND USE AND DEVELOPMENT PROPOSALS IN THE AREA AS WELL AS TO UPDATE NOTES OF THE PLAN.
THE REVISED ALIGNMENT OF THE SECTION OF ROUTE 5 BETWEEN SHEK WAI KOK AND CHAI WAN KOK HAS BEEN INCORPORATED INTO THE PLAN.

TIN IT WILL PROVIDE AN EFFICIENT LINK BETWEEN ROUTE 5 (SHAN TSUEN WAN) AND ROUTE 2 (TUEN MUN ROAD), AND THUS WILL ALLEVIATE THE TRAFFIC LOAD ALONG CASTLE PEAK ROAD.
CONSTRUCTION OF THIS LAST SECTION OF ROUTE 5
15 SCHEDULED BEGIN IN 1992 AND BE COMPLETED IN 1995, WHILE THE OTHER SECTIONS THE HIGHWAY WILL BE COMPLETED IN 1989.
THE INCORPORATION OF THIS REVISED ALIGNMENT INTO THE PLAN ALSO RESULTED IN A NUMBER OF ASSOCIATED ZONING BOUNDARY AMENDMENTS AREAS 6 AND 21 IN THE VICINITY OF THE CHUNG HANG NULLAH AND TO NORTHWEST OF THE MTR TSUEN WAN STATION.
TWO SITES TO THE SOUTH OF THE TSUEN WAN TOWN HALL ARE "GOVERNMENT/INSTITUTION/COMMUNITY" TO "OPEN SPACE" "COMMERCIAL/RESIDENTIAL".

THE NEW "COMMERCIAL/RESIDENTIAL" SITE, ABOUT 0.5 HECTARE IN AREA, ENJOYS GOOD ACCESSIBILITY AS IT IS LOCATED CLOSE ΤΟ THE TSUEN WAN FERRY PIER AND TRANSPORT COMPLEX.
THE PROPOSED TAK WAH STREET PARK HAS BEEN EXPANDED ΤΟ 1.7 HECTARES BY REZONING SOME ADJOINING LAND FROM "COMMERCIAL/RESIDENTIAL" AND "GOVERNMENT/INSTITUTION/COMMUNITY" TO "OPEN SPACE".
ANOTHER SITE OF ABOUT 0.43 HECTARE LOCATED TO THE SOUTHEAST THE PARK IS NOW RESERVED FOR A PROPOSED INDOOR RECREATION CENTRE.
