THERE WERE 29 COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE BUS SERVICE ON HONG KONG ISLAND WHICH WERE MAINLY ABOUT INADEQUATE FREQUENCIES IN SUBURBAN ROUTES.
THE 84 COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE ADEQUACY OF BUS SERVICE IN KOWLOON AND THE NEW TERRITORIES WERE MAINLY ABOUT BUSES SERVING NEW TERRITORIES' NEW TOWNS.
COMPLAINTS CONCERNING THE STANDARD OF SERVICE OF THE VARIOUS MODES OF PUBLIC TRANSPORT MADE UP 817 CASES OR 78 PER CENT OF THE CASES INVOLVING PUBLIC TRANSPORT SERVICES.
THESE COMPLAINTS WERE TAKEN UP INDIVIDUALLY WITH THE TRANSPORT OPERATORS CONCERNED OR THE RELEVANT AUTHORITIES.
COMPLAINTS ABOUT ERRATIC BUS SERVICE ON HONG KONG ISLAND WERE MAINLY DIRECTED AT BUS ROUTES SERVING SOUTHERN DISTRICT.
IN KOWLOON AND THE NEW TERRITORIES, COMPLAINTS ABOUT BUSES NOT KEEPING TO SCHEDULED FREQUENCY WERE MAINLY LEVELLED AT EXTERNAL BUS ROUTES IN WEST KOWLOON AND THE NEW TOWNS IN THE NEW TERRITORIES.
REGARDING GREEN MINIBUS SERVICES, THE MAIN MISCONDUCT OF DRIVERS, NOT ADHERING TO APPROVED INADEQUATE FREQUENCIES.
COMPLAINTS ABOUT TAXI SERVICE RECEIVED BY TCU ROSE BY 21 PER CENT TO 404 CASES AS COMPARED WITH 334 IN THE PREVIOUS QUARTER.

WITH EFFECT FROM MAY 11, THE TCU ADOPTED A NEW ARRANGEMENT TAXI COMPLAINTS WHEREBY A COMPLAINANT WOULD BE ASKED WHETHER NIE OR SHE WAS WILLING TO BE CONTACTED BY THE POLICE AND BE A WITNESS BEFORE THE CASE WAS REFERRED TO THE POLICE BY THE UNIT.
