THE EXISTING POLICY OF INTER-MODAL TRANSPORT CO-ORDINATION WHICH SPECIFIES THAT WHERE THERE IS SPARE CAPACITY ON (RAILWAY OR MTR) FIXED TRACK SYSTEM, IT SHOULD MAXIMISED IN ITS UTILISATION AND THEREFORE NO NEW BUS ROUTES SHOULD DUPLICATE OR RUN PARALLEL TO SUCH RAIL SERVICES.
NOW THAT THE MTR HAS NO SPARE CAPACITY AT PEAK HOUR, IT SHOULD BE POSSIBLE TO INTRODUCE OR OPERATE NEW BUS ROUTES PARALLEL OR DUPLICATING THE MTR ROUTES. EXISTING BU9 ROUTES DUPLICATING OR PARALLEL то MTR SERVICES CAN INCREASE ITS FREQUENCIES WITHOUT SUFFERING FROM THE EXISTING POLICY RESTRICTION.
TAC WISHES THE MTRC TO NOTE THAT SERVICES ONCE IMPLEMENTED WILL WITHDRAWN.
SUCH NEW OR EXISTING BE DIFFICULT
THE TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT SHOULD DO IT9 BEST TO AVAILABLE RESOURCES TO GIVE RELIEF AND SERVICES COMMUTING PUBLIC AFFECTED BY THE MTRC'S DECISION.
