CIVIC EDUCATION ACTIVITIES IN WAH FU

THE WAH FU AREA IN SOUTHERN DISTRICT IS HOLDING A NUMBER OF COMPETITIONS FOR PEOPLE LIVING, STUDYING OR WORKING IN THE AREA TO HELP PROMOTE A SENSE OF BELONGING AND TO SPREAD THE CIVIC EDUCATION MESSAGE.

THESE INCLUDE SLOGAN, ESTATE LOGO AND DRAWING COMPETITIONS, THE SELECTION OF THE CLEANEST HOUSING BLOCK AND A CIVIC EDUCATION QUIZ.

THE CIVIC EDUCATION TEAM UNDER THE WAH FU AREA COMMITTEE WILL ARRANGE HOME VISITS DURING THE MONTH IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOUTHERN DISTRICT CIVIC EDUCATION CAMPAIGN.

ENTRIES IN THE SLOGAN AND ESTATE LOGO COMPETITIONS SHOULD HIGHLIGHT THE CHARACTERISTICS OF WAH FU. WHILE THOSE IN THE DRAWING COMPETITION ARE REQUIRED TO PRESENT THE CIVIC EDUCATION THEME ON 29.4 CM BY 38.2 CM DRAWING PAPERS.

PARTICIPANTS SHOULD SEND THEIR ENTRIES, TOGETHER WITH NAME, ADDRESS, TELEPHONE NUMBER, AGE, IDENTITY CARD NUMBER, AND OTHER' DETAILS TO THE SOUTHERN DISTRICT OFFICE'S WAH FU SUB-OFFICE BEFORE OCTOBER 11.

COMMITTEE MEMBERS WILL BE ADJUDICATORS OF THE COMPETITIONS AND WILL TOUR HOUSING BLOCKS IN THE PUBLIC HOUSING ESTATE TO SELECT THE THREE CLEANEST BLOCKS.

FORMS FOR THE CIVIC EDUCATION QUIZ ARE OBTAINABLE AT THE WAH FU SUB-OFFICE, ROOM 708, WAH CHING HOUSE, WAH FU ESTATE. THERE WILL BE THREE MAJOR PRIZES AND TEN CONSOLATION PRIZES.

MEANWHILE, THE WAH FU CIVIC EDUCATION TEAM WILL VISIT 57 UNITS AMONG THE ESTATE'S 19 HOUSING BLOCKS BETWEEN OCTOBER 15 TO 29 TO AROUSE RESIDENTS' AWARENESS OF THEIR CIVIC RESPONSIBILITIES.

SEMINAR ON STORY-TELLING ORGANISED *****

A SEMINAR ON CHILDREN STORY-TELLING WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY (OCTOBER 4) AFTERNOON TO LAUNCH THE 1986 HONG KONG CHILDREN STORY-TELLING COMPETITION.

JOINTLY ORGANISED BY RADIO TELEVISION HONG KONG AND THE HONG KONG BOYS' AND GIRLS' CLUBS ASSOCIATION, ONE OF THE TOPICS TO BE DISCUSSED WILL BE ON +HOW TO USE STORIES TO HELP CHILDREN HANDLE THEIR EMOTIONAL PROBLEMS+.
