THE SIX STREETS ARE TUNG KUN STREET, CANTON ROAD, CHING PING STREET, LEE TAT STREET, CHEUNG SHUI STREET AND PUBLIC SQUARE STREET.
A SPOKESMAN SAID THE AREA WOULD BE REDEVELOPED BY THE HONG KONG HOUSING SOCIETY UNDER AN URBAN IMPROVEMENT SCHEME WHICH HAD BEEN AGREED IN PRINCIPLE BY THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL AND THE BOARD.
THE TWO-PHASE SCHEME WILL PROVIDE A TOTAL OF 1 600 FLATS FOR SALE OR RENTAL, A RESTAURANT, SUPERMARKET, SHOPS, OPEN SPACE AND COMMUNITY FACILITIES SUCH AS A DAY-CARE CENTRE FOR THE ELDERLY, A KINDERGARTEN AND A NURSERY.
THE ENVIRONMENT OF THE AREA WILL BE MUCH IMPROVED WHEN THIS URBAN RENEWAL SCHEME IS COMPLETED IN 1991.
THE OTHER AMENDMENT IS TO REZONE TWO SITES AT 570 CANTON ROAD AND 57 BATTERY STREET FROM +COMMERCIAL-RESIDENTIAL+ USE TO +OPEN SPACE+, IN ORDER TO PROVIDE MORE RECREATIONAL FACILITIES IN THE AREA.
WRITTEN OBJECTIONS TO THE AMENDMENTS SHOULD BE SENT TO THE SECRETARY OF THE TOWN PLANNING BOARD BY NOVEMBER 25.

THE ARTICLE DESCRIBES THE CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK OF THE ESTIMATES OF GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT (GDP) COMPILED FROM THE PRODUCTION APPROACH AND PROVIDES AN ANALYSIS OF CHARACTERISTIC FEATURES OF THE DATA SERIES FOR THE PERIOD 1980-1984.
THE PRODUCTION-BASED GDP ESTIMATES SHOW THE CONTRIBUTION OF VARIOUS ECONOMIC SECTORS, E.G. MANUFACTURING, CONSTRUCTION AND SERVICES SECTORS IN TERMS OF VALUE ADDED TO THE TOTAL GDP.
THE ANALYSIS OF PAST DATA SERIES PRESENTED SHOWS THE CHANGES IN THE CONTRIBUTION BY ECONOMIC SECTORS TO THE GDP OVER TIME AND STRUCTURAL RATIOS OF THE ECONOMIC SECTORS.
