TO ENHANCE SMOOTH TRAFFIC FLOW ALONG THESE ALTERNATIVE CORRIDORS, NO STOPPING RESTRICTIONS WILL BE IMPOSED FROM 7 AM TO 7 PM DAILY ON SOARES AVENUE THE EASTBOUND CARRIAGEWAY OF PUI CHING ROAD BETWEEN SHEUNG HING STREET AND WATERLOO ROAD; EASTBOUND CARRIAGEWAY OF ARGYLE STREET BETWEEN PEACE AVENUE AND WATERLOO ROAD; WESTBOUND CARRIAGEWAY OF ARGYLE STREET BETWEEN YIM PO FONG STREET AND PRINCESS MARGARET ROAD; AND WATERLOO ROAD BETWEEN PRINCE EDWARD ROAD WEST AND VICTORY AVENUE EXCEPT THE SECTION BETWEEN ARGYLE STREET AND SOARES AVENUE-PUI CHING ROAD.

IN ADDITION, A 24-HOUR DAILY URBAN CLEARWAY RESTRICTION WILL BE IMPOSED ON THE SLIP ROAD LINKING PRINCESS MARGARET ROAD NORTHBOUND AND PUI CHING ROAD.

TO REDUCE TRAFFIC CONGESTION ALONG PRINCESS MARGARET ROAD- WATERLOO ROAD NORTHBOUND CORRIDOR, PRINCE EDWARD ROAD WEST EAST

TO OF WATERLOO ROAD WILL BE RE-ROUTED ONE-WAY WESTBOUND. ENCOURAGE RESIDENTS TO USE PUBLIC TRANSPORT SO AS TO ALLEVIATE CONGESTION, LEFT TURN FROM WATERLOO ROAD NORTHBOUND ON TO PRINCE EDWARD ROAD WEST WILL BE BANNED TO ALL VEHICLES EXCEPT BUSES. THE EXISTING BUSES-ONLY RIGHT TURN FROM WATERLOO ROAD SOUTHBOUND ON TO ARGYLE STREET WILL BE MAINTAINED.

AS A RESULT OF THE RE-ROUTE INGS, KMB ROUTES 3, 78, 10, 12b AND 208 TRAVELLING ON WATERLOO ROAD NORTHBOUND WILL BE DIVERTED VIA THE EASTERN GROUND-LEVEL CARRIAGEWAY OF WATERLOO ROAD NORTH

AMONG THEM, ROUTES OF PRINCE EDWARD ROAD WEST TO BOUNDARY STREET. 10 AND 208 WILL PROCEED VIA EARL STREET AND PRINCE EDWARD ROAD WEST TO REJOIN LA SALLE ROAD.

MR LAM SAID THAT TO KEEP THE PUBLIC BETTER INFORMED OF THE SCHEME, THE MAP AND SCHEDULES ON GENERAL TRAFFIC AND PUBLIC TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS WILL BE DISPLAYED AT THE STREET NOTICE BOARDS OF THE AFFECTED DISTRICTS. COPIES OF THE MAP WILL ALSO BE AVAILABLE FOR COLLECTION AT THE PUBLIC ENQUIRY COUNTERS OF THE DISTRICT OFFICES,

HE ADDED THAT DETAILS AND THE DATES OF IMPLEMENTING THE TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES UNDER STAGES TWO AND THREE OF THE SCHEME WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN DUE COURSE.
