Part B of the room/hall which is outside the boundary of the polling
station is the waiting area where electors assemble before and after
the casting of votes and before the result of the poll is announced.
Part A and B will be separated by screens. After all electors have
cast their votes or when the polling time in up, the polling station
will become the counting station. ▲ sketch plan of a typical polling/

at Annex D.
The media will be allowed inside the polling/counting stations
and the waiting areas for slectors only during the following specific
times i

(1) Before polling Frior to 9.30 am media representatives can go
into the waiting areas for electors, which is aither partitioned
off from the voting/counting station or for some constituencies,
is situated in a separate room altogether, to take pictures of
them assembling. They will not be able to go into the waiting
area during the intervening periods between polls. For the Urban
Council constituency, they can photograph electors assembling in
the waiting room before 2.30 pm.
(2) Beginning of counting - at the end of each poll, media representatives
will be able to photograph the ballot boxes being opened and the
ballot papers being removed from the boxes. They will not be able
to photograph the counting of votes.
(3) Declaration of counting results
