Media Arrangements

Introduction

A total of 64 candidates have come forward for the Legislative

Council elections to be held on September 26, 1985. Of them, six are

uncontested, leaving 58 candidates to compete for a total of 18 elected

Beats

-

38 for 11 electoral college seats and 20 for 7 functional

constituency seats.

A. ELECTORAL COLLEGE

Since the Provisional Regional Council constituency is

uncontested, there will only be il polling stations altogether, one

for each constituency. Voting will be by a repeated ballot system,

The first poll for all geographical constituencies will

take place between 10 am and 10.30 am. If it is necessary for any

subsequent polls to be taken, these will also be of 30-minute duration

and commence 45 minutes after the declaration of the results of the

immediate preceding poll.

The first poll for the Urban Council constituency will take

place between 3 pa and 3.30 pm.

Media Arrangements

The hall/conference room which has been gazetted as a

polling/counting station will consist of two parts. Part ▲ of the

room/hall will be the polling/counting station proper where the

issuing of ballot papers and the casting of votes will be done.
