AMBULANCE CALLERS SHOULD GIVE MORE DETAILS

PEOPLE SHOULD GIVE AS MUCH INFORMATION AS POSSIBLE WHEN CALLING FOR AN AMBULANCE, A CHIEF FIRE OFFICER SAID.
WHILE THE AMBULANCE FLEET WAS ALWAYS READY TO ASSIST THOSE IN NEED OF THE SERVICE AS MUCH DETAILED INFORMATION AS POSSIBLE SHOULD BE GIVEN, SAID MR CHEUNG SHU-SHING, CHIEF FIRE OFFICER, NEW TERRITORIES COMMAND.
SPEAKING AT THE OFFICIAL OPENING OF THE TSING YI AMBULANCE DEPOT -- THE 13TH AMBULANCE DEPOTS SO FAR -- MR CHEUNG SAID THERE WAS A NEED FOR A GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE INJURY OR ILLNESS, CLEAR AND CORRECT LOCATION AND ADDRESS OF THE PERSON WHO REQUIRED EMERGENCY TREATMENT, TO BE GIVEN IN MAKING THE CALL.

REFERRING TO TSING YI ISLAND, MR CHEUNG SAID THE DEPOT WAS PUT INTO OPERATION LATE LAST YEAR THE AMBULANCE DEPOT HAD RESPONDED TO MORE THAN 9 000 CALLS AND CARRIED OVER 15 000 PATIENTS.
+I AM SURE ALL OF YOU WOULD AGREE WITH ME THAT THE AMBULANCE WORK IS VERY ARDUOUS AND DEMANDING BUT MEANINGFUL AND REWARDING. OUR AMBULANCE PERSONNEL HAVE GAINED THE TRUST AND RESPECT OF THE COMMUNITY, HE SAID.
HE NOTED THE STANDARD OF THE LOCAL AMBULANCE PERSONNEL WAS EQUAL TO THAT OF THEIR COUNTERPARTS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM.
THE NEW DEPOT HAS A FLEET OF EIGHT AMBULANCE, AND 76 AMBULANCE PERSONNEL AND WAS BUILT AT A COST OF $5.25 MILLION.
