HE SAID PARTICIPANTS IN THE PRIMARY SCHOOL PROGRAMME HAVE PROVED THAT NEW TEACHING TECHNIQUES AND MATERIALS COULD MOTIVATE CHILDREN TO LEARN CHINESE AND ENGLISH BETTER.

MR LEUNG WAS ADDRESSING 310 TEACHERS AT THE GRADUATION CEREMONY OF THE SIXTH REFRESHER COURSE FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS AND THE FIRST REFRESHER COURSE FOR PREVOCATIONAL SCHOOL ENGLISH TEACHERS AT THE INSTITUTE OF LANGUAGE IN EDUCATION.

+PARTICIPANTS IN THE PREVOCATIONAL SCHOOLS PROGRAMME HAVE REPORTED VERY ENCOURAGING RESULTS IN THEIR EXPERIMENTAL TEACHING, + MR LEUNG SAID.

HE SAID A COMPREHENSIVE SURVEY CONDUCTED BEFORE THE COURSE BEGAN ENABLED THE INSTITUTE TO OBTAIN FIRST-HAND INFORMATION WHICH IT USED TO DESIGN A TAILOR-MADE COURSE MEETING THE SPECIFIC NEEDS OF STUDENTS, TEACHERS AND THE PREVOCATIONAL SCHOOLS.

+THE FINAL PROGRAMME WAS ACTUALLY A JOINT EFFORT OF THE

TUTORS AND THE PARTICIPANTS, HE CONTINUED.

+THROUGH CONSTANT FEEDBACK FROM PARTICIPANTS, THE INSTITUTE WAS ABLE TO MODIFY THE CURRICULUM AND READJUST THE TIMETABLE TO MAKE THE PROGRAMME MORE PRACTICAL AND REALISTIC,+ MR LEUNG ADDED.
