SPEAKING AT THE FIRST JOINT GRADUATION CEREMONY OF THE COLLEGES OF EDUCATION AT THE ACADEMIC COMMUNITY HALL, MR TOPLEY SAID TEACHERS MUST HAVE MASTERY OF WHAT THEY TEACH.

A TEACHER VERY DECISIVELY, HE SAID.

FINALLY, MR TOPLEY URGED TEACHERS TO LOOK FOR OPPORTUNITIES TO BRING THEMSELVES UP TO DATE AND TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IN-SERVICE TRAINING PROVIDED BY THE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT AND THE UNIVERSITIES.

+BOTH THE PRIMARY AND SECONDARY CURRICULUM HAVE TO RESPOND

TO NEW IDEAS AND CHANGING EXPECTATIONS, HE SAID.

THE PRINCIPAL OF GRANTHAM COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, DR Y.F. KONG, REPORTED THAT 670 FULL-TIME COURSE GRADUATES AND 301 PART-TIME COURSE GRADUATES HAD COMPLETED THEIR STUDIES AT THE THREE COLLEGES OF EDUCATION THIS YEAR.
