Mr. KUNG Mau-chuen
Mr. Kung joined the Royal Hong Kong Police Force as a
Police Constable in 1952. He attained his present rank of Station Sergeant in 1965. He has served in both urban districts and Traffic
Branch and as an instructor at the Police Training School. He was
transferred to the Criminal Investigation
Branch Intelligence Officer in 1975, since when he has constantly examined and reviewed methods to improve the intelligence system. Criminal intelligence information is now available to every member
of the Division and the dividends achieved have been most encouraging.
Department as Uniform
Mr. LAM Mun-cheong
Mr. Lam joined the Force as a Constable in 1958 and in 1964 was appointed an Inspector. He has served in several departments, including the Narcotics Bureau and the Special Bomb Investigation
Unit but mostly with the Criminal Investigation Department. He has occupied his present post as Divisional Detective Inspector since 1978 where he has been successful in redeploying CID resources to
deal with rising crime in an area of rapid population growth.
Mr. LAM Ping-man
Sergeant Lam has served throughout his career in the
Marine Police. He is cool and calm in a crisis and displays a
considerable ability to analyse a situation and organise his resources to the best effect. During the influx of illegal immigrants and Vietnamese refugees, Marine District (West Sector),
where he is presently attached, intercepted more than 150 vessels
from China, holding more than 3 800 illegal immigrants, and over
250 Vietnamese vessels holding more than 22 000 refugees. He took his full share of the responsibilities for dealing with these arrivals, often under difficult and arduous conditions.
