Mr YOUNG Chak

Mr YOUNG Chak joined the Prisons Department as a Warder

in 1950. Throughout his 29 years of service, during which he has

been awarded the Colonial Prison Service Medal in 1968 and the

First Clasp to the Medal in 1975, he has carried out his duties in

an exemplary manner. He was awarded the Commissioner of Prisons'

Commendation in 1978 for his alertness in helping to save the life

of a prisoner who had attempted to commit suicide.

Mr YU Che-shun

Mr Yu joined the Government Service as a messe iger in 1949. He transferred to the Prisons Department in 1952 and was

promoted through the ranks to become Assistant Officer I in 1972.

Following practical training in mental nursing in 1961, he was posted to Victoria Prison to help in the setting up of a

Psychiatric Observation Unit.

Mr Yu has contributed greatly to the progress made in the building up of psychiatric services within the department since

1961.
