Mr. Thomas David Charles GARDINER
Mr. Gardiner has served in the Fire Services for 26 years following
service in the Army and in the Metropolitan Police. He has served in Hong
·
Kong for 16 years, in all branches including operational fire divisions, Head-
quarters and the Fire Prevention Bureau. Throughout he has demonstrated
courage, loyalty and discipline often under most hazardous conditions and his
skill, leadership and determination at countless dangerous emergencies have
contributed significantly to the saving of many lives and property.
He has rendered particularly valuable service in command of the
Fire Services Training School where he has been responsible for the basic
training of many hundreds of recruits and the advanced or refresher training
of the whole service.

Mr. Janes Gordon MURRAY
Mr. Murray has served for more than 25 years in the Fire Services.
Following service in the London Fire Brigade he was for six years in the Fire
Service in Uganda, part of the time as Firomaster. He has served in Hong
Kong for the past 17 years. Mr. Murray has contributed significantly towards
the development of the Fire Service, especially as Planning Officer at Head-
quarters. He has demonstrated a high standard of discipline and devotion to
duty at all times together with courage and loyalty at countless hazardous
emergencies where his leadership and determination have been responsible for
the saving of many lives and much property.
