BEM (British Empire Medal)

Mr. LI Hong, CPI

in 1946.

Mr. Li joined the Royal Hong Kong Police Force as a constable

After four years he transferred to the Police Band for the

rest of his service.

He was the Drum Major and was instrumental in welding the

band together for the Director of Music. He could always be relied

upon to give of his best himself and to obtain the best he could from

his subordinates and fellow musicians. His own dynamic personality,

"swagger", and smartness made a tremendous impact on every audience,

and endeared him and the band to the crowds.

He was a member of the band on their two highly successful

tours to Australia and the United Kingdon in 1977 and 1978, and his

encouragement and leadership assisted in making these tours the

undoubted successes that they were.

BEM (British Empire Medal)

Mr. LO Tung-leung

Mr. Lo first joined the Railway as an apprentice in 1940.

By hard work and ability he reached his present post of Workshops

Inspector in 1973. He is now 55 years of age but approval has been

given for his service to be extended for two years.
