TWO MID-LEVELS FLYOVERS OPEN

THE TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCED TODAY (TUESDAY) TWO FLYOVERS IN THE MID-LEVELS WILL BE OPENED TO TRAFFIC ON THURSDAY (DECEMBER 13) AND FRIDAY (DECEMBER 14) RESPECTIVELY.

FROM 4 PM ON THURSDAY, THE UPPER GLENEALY FLYOVER WILL BE OPENED TO TRAFFIC.

NORTHBOUND MOTORISTS ON THE GLENEALY MAY USE THIS NEW FLYOVER VIA THE ALBANY ROAD FLYOVER TO GO TO THE PEAK OR VIA ALBANY ROAD TO GET TO CENTRAL DISTRICT.

THE WESTBOUND CARRIAGEWAY OF THE ALBANY ROAD FLYOVER WILL BE OPENED TO TRAFFIC FROM 10 AM ON FRIDAY.

MOTORISTS ON WESTBOUND JOURNEYS ALONG ROBINSON ROAD MAY USE THIS NEW FLYOVER AS AN ALTERNATIVE ROUTE.

APPROPRIATE TRAFFIC SIGNS WILL BE SET UP TO GUIDE MOTORISTS.

WORKSHOPS IN REMEDIAL ENGLISH TEACHING

THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING CENTRE OF THE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT WILL BE RUNNING A SERIES OF FOUR WORKSHOPS EARLY NEXT YEAR IN REMEDIAL ENGLISH TEACHING FOR TEACHERS OF MIXED ABILITY CLASSES FROM PRIMARY 4 TO 6.

THESE WORKSHOPS WILL INCLUDE SHORT TALKS ON REMEDIAL LANGUAGE TEACHING AND DEMONSTRATION OF INDIVIDUAL TEACHING TECHNIQUES.

PARTICIPANTS WILL BE GIVEN A CHANCE TO DESIGN AND TRY OUT REMEDIAL EXERCISES SUITABLE FOR USE IN THEIR OWN CLASSES.

EACH WORKSHOP CONSISTS OF SIX TWO-HOUR MEETINGS HELD ON MONDAYS, WEDNESDAYS AND FRIDAYS BETWEEN JANUARY 14 AND FEBRUARY 8, 1980.

THE FIRST TWO WORKSHOPS WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE KOWLOON UNIT OF THE TEACHING CENTRE AT MA TAU KOK GOVERNMENT OFFICES, 1 MA TAU KOK ROAD, SECOND FLOOR- AND THE OTHER TWO AT THE HONG KONG UNIT AT 9A BONHAM ROAD.

ENROLMENT FOR EACH WORKSHOP WILL BE LIMITED TO 20 AND APPLICATIONS WILL BE TREATED ON A FIRST-COME FIRST-SERVED BASIS.

A CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE WILL BE AWARDED TO ALL TEACHERS WHO HAVE SATISFACTORILY COMPLETED A WORKSHOP.

HEADS OF SCHOOLS CAN SEND THEIR APPLICATION FORMS TO THE SENIOR INSPECTOR, ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING CENTRE, 9A BONHAM ROAD, HONG KONG ON OR BEFORE DECEMBER 21. ENQUIRIES MAY BE MADE AT THE CENTRE ON TELEPHONE 5-482537.
