Mr. Chen has served in the various sections of the former

Resettlement Department, and during the past four years has contributed mach to the smooth amalgamation of the resettlement and housing grades.

Mr. Cheng Eng-kuan

Mr. Cheng has been active in community affairs for many years. He was a dedicated and hardworking Chairman of the Po Leung Kuk during

its recent centenary year.

Mr. Cheng also serves on many other community organisations,

such as the Queen's Silver Jubilee Fund Committee, Grantham Scholarship Fund Committee, Brewin Trust Fund Committee, Hong Kong Juvenile Care Centre,

Yuen Yuen Hok Yuen Home for the Aged and various district committees in

support of recreation and youth activities.

Mr. Fung Yue-keung

Mr. Fung Yue-keung has over 29 years of Government service, starting off as a temporary clerk and progressing through the Interpreter/

Translator classes to become Senior Chinese Language Officer in 1973.

He was head of a translation section in the Home Affairs Department

for many years before he became the head of a specialist translation section

dealing with environmental matters, public works, transport, housing and mass

transit in 1973.

Mr. Clifford George Watts Kerswill

From the 'Arethusa' training ship, Mr. Kerswill joined the Royal Navy and reached the rank of Petty Officer before he was 21. Following war

service he joined the Chinese Maritime Custous in 1947 as a Launch Officer.

In 1953 he joined the Commerce and Industry Department as a Revenue Inspector and reached the rank of Superintendent in 1973. Mr. Kerswill retired in September 1978.
