Had it not been for the actions and courage of the recipients in
entering the burning vehicle to assist in the evacuation of passengers and
in the initial rescue and fire fighting operations, the number of casualties
would undoubtedly have been much higher.
Among the guests present at the presentation were Mr. P. Jacobs,
Registrar General; Mr. J.R. Todd, Acting Secretary for the New Territories;
and Mr. M.C. Illingworth, District Police Commander, New Territories.
SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR LATE DIVIDEND PAYOUT

The Official Receiver's Office has made special arrangements for
creditors of the defunct Canton Trust and Commercial Bank to claim any of the
four dividends which they have failed to collect.
A spokesman for the Official Receiver's Office said today that
creditors were invited to complete and send to the liquidator a "claim for
late dividend payment form" which may be obtained at :
The Official Receiver's Office, 6th floor, United Chinese
Bank Building, 31-37 Des Voeux Road Central,
Any City District Offices,
Princess Alexandra Community Centre, Tai Ho Road, Tsuen Wan,
Yuen Long Births and Marriage Registry,
Sheung Shui Births and Marriage Registry, and
The Tuen Mun, Sheung Shui, Fanling, Tai Po, and
Sha Tin Rural Committee Offices.
Completed claims forms should be sent by post to the liquidator at
the address printed on the form on or before October 15.
Dividends will be paid only by means of a cheque made payable to the
depositor or his authorised representative. A depositor can choose to accept
the cheque by post or to collect it in person.
