BRAVA FACEERS AWARDED BELILIOS SILVER STAR
The Director of Tire Services, Mr. Fred Watson, today (Thursday)
presented the Bel il ios Silver Stars and the Director of Fire Services
Commendations to ten local residents in recognition of their bravery during a
traffic accident in Sek Kong on February 25 this year.

Silver Stars today were Messrs. Chuck Wing-
hon and Chan Yiu-wing, Manager and employee of Sek Kong Restaurant, and Mr.
A.H. Hackreth, Senior Land Executive of the New Territories Administration;
The Director's Commendations went to Messrs. Luk Hung, Fung Kin-wai, lai Kwai-
hing, Cheung Kan-wah, Lee Kwok-chi, Lee Yiu-kwan and Liu Jing-lee.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony held at the Fire Services
Training School at Pat Heung, Mr. Watson said the awards indicated to the
recipients that 'their unselfish and highly appreciated acts at this incident
are acknowledged by the community'

"I am cure 7 speak not only for the people on the bus who owe them
so much, but for all the citizens of Hong Kong when I say 'you put others before
yourself
thank you.'
The Director also commended many other persons and organisations,
including the crew of an army ambulance and the police, for having rendered
valuable services at this incident and did much to ease the pain and suffering
of casualties.
The incident occurred on February 25 shortly after 2 p.m. when a
public bus laden with passengers crashed into a supermarket and restaurant
near the road junction of Route Twisk and Lam Kam Road, causing six deaths
and numerous casualties.
