Q.C.V.S.A. (Queen's Commendation for Valuable Service in the Air)

Flight Lieutenant Brenian Charles Spikins, R.í.F.

Flt. Lt. Spikins served with the Royal Hong Kong Auxiliary Air

Force on loan from the Royal Air Force from September 1973 to mid 1976

as helicopter instructor and the officer responsible for maintaining

helicopter flying standards and the training of new helicopter pilots.

In addition to his instructing role, Flt. Lt. Spikina

voluntarily took part in the unit's emergency dutios. He took part in

16 night and 54 day tine casualty evacuations, several of which involved

flying skills of the very highest order.
