Though the village was served with some essential facilities,
the Laus prefer the more comfortable accommodation in public housing.
"I find it more convenient and comfortable at Lai King because
the flat is bigger, brighter and better ventilated. Also, we have a nice
view.

"I realise now that I could never rent a private flat with
similar facilities
gardens, playgrounds, a shopping area and many other
necessary services," Mr. Lau added,
"The flat itself is self-contained with private toilet, kitchen,
balcony and washing area."
