The spokesman said such improvements and the raising of space
standards were matters under continual review taking into account the
availability of land, finance and staff resources.
"This is now possible as some more sites have been made available
to the Authority for developing into licensed areas for temporary housing,"
he said.
Six new licensed areas for 16,000 people are currently under
construction.
Two of them, at Yau Ma Hon and Shek Lei ip Tsuen Wan,
will be completed before the end of the year and four others in Ha Kwai
Chung, Kowloon Bay, Tin Wan and Aplichau will be ready early next year.
