880 NEW FLATS AVAILABLE BY MID-1977 FOR
TAI HANG TUNG ESTATE TENANTS
On the site of the former Tai Hang Sai Cottage Area, three
12-storey public housing blocks providing 880 flats are now in the
final stages of construction.
These blocks form part of the redevelopment of Tai Hang Tung
Estate, which the Housing Authority is aiming to better residents'
living environment.

For the past two years, Tai Hang Tung tenants have been
watching with keen interest the work going on across the road and soon
some of them will be moving into these new flats.
The Housing Department project architect experts that these
three blocks should be ready for occupation by the middle of next year.
These flats of about 350 to 400 square feet are suitable for
Families of four to seven people. They are fully self-contained, each
with its own private balcony, kitchen and toilet with shower.
Also being built at the same time as these three domestic
blocks are a carpark for 470 vehicles, a two-storey commercial complex
and a number of cooked-food stalls.
