PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT WORTH $1.2 MILLION
ORDERED BY HOUSING AUTHORITY
Playground equipment valued at almost $350,000 has been
ordered for public housing estates so far this year.
A Housing Authority spokesman said there were 10 different
types of equipment, including slides, activity equipment, see-saws,
swings and roundabouts.
He said more than 100 of the items had already been installed
in 13 estates and an additional 120 were on order. These would arrive
early next year and be installed in 11 estates.
The spokesman said a further order was about to be placed
for supplying a total of 476 items at a cost of more than $870,000,
bringing the total cost of playground equipment installed or ordered.
this year by the Housing Authority to more than $1.2 million.
The orders have been awarded to a leading playground equipment
manufacturer in Britain.
