TENDERS CALLED FOR WAR FU EXTENSION

The Housing Authority today (Friday) invites tenders for the

construction of Wah Fu Estate extension.

The work consists of the building of two twin-tower blocks and

a multi-storey commercial complex.

À nine-acre site, opposite Wah Hing House has been formed and

the building of the superstructure is expected to start in January 1976

and be completed in about two years,

The twin-tower blocks 22 and 24 storeys high will house about

10,000 people.

The six-storey commercial complex, planned to meet the additional

shopping and marketing demands of the increased population, will accommdoate

a restaurant, a number of shops and market stalls, a car park and premises

for service trades.

Wah Fu, which, is virtually a small township, now has a population

of about 45,000.

It has within its boundary, a number of schools, kindergartens,

shops and department stores, welfare facilities as well as plenty of open

space.

A public garden, the Waterfall Bay Park, is being developed on

the slope of the headland on which the estate stands.
