After a busy programme of events, which began on Sunday
evening, the queen ended her first visit to Hong Kong this morning.
In blustery weather her aircraft, the same British Airways Boeing
707 in which she arrived, took off from Hong Kong International Airport
for Japan at 9.44 a.m.

Earlier, she and the Duke of Edinburgh had driven from
Government House through the cross-harbour tunnel. Ma ta

the airport the small Royal Standard" on the aircraft was hoisted through
the roof.

The Queen and the Duke were seen off at the airport by the
Governor, Sir Murray MacLehose, Lady MacLehose, the Commander British

Justice, Sir Geoffrey Briggs, the Colonial Secretary, Mr. Denys Roberts,
