Hawkers will be permitted to set up stands in the carly afternoon
without having to apply for a licence. Soft drinks, fruit, ice cream
and other refreshments will be allowed to be sold.
The reclaimed sites will be able comfortably to accommodate as
many as 20,000 people who will be able to enjoy themselves, and it is
hoped that a carnival atmosphere will prevail in keeping with the fostive
mood generated by the Queen's historic visit to Hong Kong.
