Ir. Smith, who is well-known for his professionalism and expertise
in aviation work, is leaving Hong Kong after um cxtended tour of 14 months.
Honours bestowed on him include a Distinguished Flying Cross and
a Kaution in Despatches during the war.
RURAL COMMITTEE ELUCTIONS
Twenty-six Rural Committees in the New Territories are holding
elections of office-bearers next month.
The term of office of the prozent office-bearers will exire by
the end of next month.
The elections will be held between March 1 and March 22.
The Rural
Committees are Cheung Chau, Tsing Yi, Shatankok, Tung
Gning, Fanling, Ha Wan, Peng Chau, Sheung Shui, Hang Hau, Touen lan, Takwuling,
Tai 0, San Tin, Sai Kung, South Lantao, Sai Kung (North), Tai Po, Hui Wo,
Shap Pat lleung, Sha Tin, Ping Shan, Lamma (North), Tuon lun, Lama (South),
Pat licung and Kam Tin.
