COMMUNITY RELIEF TRUST FUND RENAMED
The name of the Community Relief Trust Fund is to be changed
to Emergency Relief Fund.
A bill entitled the Community Relief Trust Fund (Amendment)
Bill 1973 to make this effective will go before the Legislative Council
shortly. The bill is published in today's Gazette for information.
In the past, confusion has arisen between the Community Chest
of Hong Kong which holds an annual appeal for charitable and welfare
purposes and the Community Relief Trust Fund for which special appeals
have been made in respect of particular disasters or emergencies.
The proposed amendment is designed to avoid this confusion
and to describe more accurately the purpose of the Fund.
