TRAINING COURSE FOR INTENDING SUPERVISORS FOR ADULT EDUCATION CENTRES
Teachers who want to be part-time supervisors at Adult Education
and Recreation Centres in the evenings are invited to join a nine-month
training course which begins in November.
"This course, which is free, will present concepts and techniques
of adult education for teachers who wish to play their part in this community
service," Mrs. Vivian Fong, Senior Education Officer (Adult Education)
said today.
She added: We are looking for about 120 teachers to be trained
as supervisors. Last year, 75 completed the course."
Applicants should be qualified teachera with an interest in
organising recreational activities and group work.
Mrs. Fong pointed out that interests in sports, art and crafts
as well as cultural activities would be an advantage,
During their nine months of training, the intending supervisors
will be required to attend lectures or take part in group activities for
the two evenings a week.
The medium of instruction will be Cantonese.
"After completion of the course, candidates will be qualified to
take up supervisory posts when vacancies arise in the 14 Adult Education
and Recreation Centres, run by the Adult Education Section, in Hong Kong,
Kowloon and the New Territories," Mrs. Fong said.
