IMPROVEMENTS TO CASTLE PEAK ROAD
Saturday, June 9, 1973
Two sections of the existing Castle Peak Road will be widened and
realigned in a plan to improve traffic conditions along the south-western
coast of the New Territories.
One section of the road is situated at Brothers Point near the 15
milestone and the other is at Tai Lam Chung near the 16 milestone.
The improvements are to be carried out in association with the
construction of a new Tuen Mun Road linking Tsuen Wan and Tuen Mun New Town.
This nine-mile road, to be built in two stages, will eventually have
two three-lane carriageways.
Slip roads connecting the new motorway to Castle Peak Road and
accesses to adjoining properties will be provided as part of the present project.
The proposal to undertake the work is in this week's gazette and
anyone who has objections must send them in writing to the Director of
Public Works to reach his office not later than July 8.
August 8.
Claims for compensation must also reach his office not later than
