HONG KONG GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTS FOR FEBRUARY 1973

The Hong Kong Government accounts for the month of February 1973

show a surplus of $174 million compared with a surplus of $100 million in

February last year.

This has resulted in a total surplus of $1,076 million for the

first eleven months of the 1972-73 financial year.

Total revenue for the month at $495 million was $149 million more

than in February 1972.

The total revenue for the first eleven months of the financial

year 1972-73 at $4,438 million was $1,159 million more than the same period

last year.

Total expenditure amounted to $321 million, an increase of $75

million over the same month last year.

This brings the total expenditure for the first eleven months

of the financial year to $3,362 million, which was $823 million more than the

same period last year,
