To prepare them for their work, all new recruits are required
to undergo a six-month induction training course in the Prisons Department.
Once in the prisons service, staff Decbers can enjoy all the
benefits provided for civil servants, including housing, free medical
treatment and holidays.
There are also other departmental benefits such as welfare
funds and free sports facilities.
