Other works included in the contract will be a seawater intake screen
building, a chemical house and a fuel control building.
Two chimneys will be constructed each 400 feet high

to operate
in conjunction with the boilers.
The fresh water produced by the plant will be pumped under pressure
to the existing Tai Lam Chung reservoir through steel pipelines, and a
mile-long tunnel, which are also being constructed by Gammon.
Work on the new contract has already begun, and the major part
will be completed during the first 15 months of the projected 36 months
completion time.
The first evaporator unit at the plant is scheduled to begin trial
operatione in December, 1975.
