TAXI DRIVERS WARNED ON OVERCHARGING
Taxi drivers are reminded not to overcharge fares during the Lunar
New Year period.
A spokesman for the Transport Department said today there were
reports during last Lunar New Year that taxi drivers demanded "lucky money"
from passengers.
Under the law, any person who commits such an offence will, in the
case of first conviction, be liable to a fine of $500 and three months'
imprisonment.
