DISPUTE IN WIG FACTORY SETTLED
With the help of the Labour Department, an amicable settlement has
been reached in the dispute in the Fair Tress Limited in Kwun Tong over the
termination of the employment of 68 workers.

had actively mediated between the parties involved.

Six conciliation meetings
Final agreement was reached and signed by the two parties in the
presence of a labour officer of the Labour Relations Service in Kwun Tong
yesterday (January 3).
The workers concerned will receive from their employer on January 9
a sun of $44,000 as arrears of wages, holidays pay, payment in lieu of notice
of termination and special allowance in recognition of the workers' service
with the factory.
