**

the risks that can be involved in such investment, and so to act with more

published in the Gazette and the second reading debate on the Bill has been
concluded in the Legislative Council.
A number of other bills, dealing with Securities, Unit Trusts,
Mutual Funds and Take-overs, arising from the Companies Law Revision Committee
Report on the Protection of Investors, are in the process of being drafted
and will be published. in the comming months.
Entitled "A Simple Guide to Investment in Shares
-
Investigate before
you invest, don't make it a gamble", the pamphlet warns that the purchase of
shares on the stock market should not be regarded as a quick way of making money.
It should be a long-term investment.
It tells people that before they buy shares, they should ask themselves
whether they can afford to lose the money.
"If not, put your money in a risk-free form of saving such as a bank
deposit account".
It says:
"The only way to be absolutely sure that you will not lose
/It tells
anything is not to buy shares at all".
