recorded.

On October 21, a cold front passed through Hong Kong and the

air temperature fell rapidly to a minimum of 21.1°C during the following

night. The relative humidity also dropped to below 65 per cent and a

Yellow Fire Warning was issued on October 21.

This was the first warning issued since the introduction of the

new fire warning system earlier in the month.

Winds over Hong Kong were fresh to strong and the Strong Monsoon

Signal was hoisted at 7.15 p.m. on October 21 and lowered at 1.30 p.m.
