NEW CONVERSION FACTOR ON EXPORTS OF WOVEN TROUSERS
Local exports of woven trousers to the European Economic Community
(EEC) are to be controlled by the use of a new conversion factor of 3,184
pieces per metric ton, the Director of Commerce and Industry, Mr. D.H. Jordan,
announced today.
The new conversion factor is necessary because it has been found that
the existing ones have resulted in shipments of woven trousers exceeding the
limits in metric tone as provided in the HK/EEC Agreement on Cotton Textiles.
