On the question of the "interface" between the Government and the

people, Mr. Browne said that he hoped under Mr. Cater's direction things will further improve and that departments will try to do more to project

themselves, and their work, to the community.

"There is room, too, for improvement on the part of the press, for

some of us have met reporters who are ignorant of government policy and who,

on occasions, have not bothered to do their homework."
