ANTI-MEASLES CAMPAIGN RESPONSE STILL POOR
Statistics released today by the Medical and Health Department show
that only 703 children were immunised against measles during the seventh week
of the current anti-measles campaign.
of the total, 137 doses were administered on the Island, 362 in Kowloon,
and 204 in the New Territories.
Since the beginning of the campaign on August 8, the overall number
of doses administered is now 10,662.
The campaign has two more weeks to go. After that, anti-measles vaccine
will be routinely available at all government maternal and child health centres.
QUARANTINE RESTRICTIONS IMPOSED
The Port Health Authority announced today that quarantine
restrictions have been imposed against people arriving from Djambi Port in
Indonesia because of cholera.
