NEW TRAFFIC PROPOSALS BEING STUDIED
The Transport Department, the police and the Public Works Department
have decided to pursue the possibility of using "box junctions" to assist the
free flow of traffic at busy light-controlled intersections.
The Acting Director of Public Works, the Hon. A.S. Robertson, said in
Legislative Council that before these junctions could be introduced, it would
be necessary to pass legislation making it an offence to enter them until the
exit route was cleared.
