CLEARWAY HOURS EXTENDED
The Transport Department is to extend the operating hours of special
clearway zones in parts of Kowloon in an effort to improve traffic flow during
peak periods.
With effect from Tuesday (June 27), the daily clearway hours in
Shanghai Street and Reclamation Street, between Mong Kok and Public Square
Street, will be extended by two and a half hours.
The new operating times will be between 7.30 a.m. and 10 a.m.
between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. This means that the morning clearway times are
being increased by half-an-hour and the afternoon by two hours,
All motor vehicles, except franchised buses, will be prohibited
from stopping to pick up or set down passengers and to load or unload goods
during the clearway hours. Appropriate traffic signs will be erected to
indicate the revised times.
