NOTE TO EDITORS

HONG KONG'S NEW, ENLARGED LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

TO MEET FOR FIRST TIME ON WEDNESDAY

The now, onlargod Logislative Council will meet for the first time

on Wednesday afternoon.

The Council now comprises 13 Unofficial and twelve Official Members

with His Excellency the Governor as President of the Council, but only 24

Members will be attending Wednseday's meeting as the Hon. F.S. Ld is away from

the Colony.

At the meeting, five new Unofficial Members the Hon, P.Y. Tang, the

Hon. Tse Yu-chuen, the Hon. K.A. Watson, the Hon. P.C. Woo and the Hon. G.R.

Ross and two new Official Members

Wakefield

the Hon. T.D. Sorby and the Hon. J.T.

will take the Oath of Allegiance.

The Hon. P.C.M. Sedgwick and the Hon. Fung Hon-chu took the Oath of

Allegiance on their previous appointments to the Legislative Council.

For the guidance of reporters covering meetings of Legislative Council, a plan showing the new seating arrangement in the Council Chamber is

attached to this Bulletin.

It is suggested that Editors might like to keep for future reference

the following biographical notes on all the Official and Unofficial Membors of Legislative Council who will be meeting on July 8, 1964:-

His Excellency the Governor, Sir David Trench. K.C.M.G., M.C.

His Excellency Sir David Trench, K.C.M.G., M.C., arrived in Hong Kong on April 14, 1964 to assume the Governorship of Hong Kong in succession to Sir

Robert Black, G.C.M.G., 0.B.E.

Born on June 2, 1915, Sir David Clive Crosbie Trench was educated at
