The slides are supplied plain or coloured as desired.
Professor Ross, School of Tropical Medicine, Liverpool, has a fine set of malarial parasite slides. Those showing how to destroy parasites would be very useful.
With the single exception of Professor Ross's slides, all those suggested are by Newton and Company, 3, Fleet Street.
If supplied in boxes containing about 50, suitable for travelling, it would be a convenience and slides would be better preserved.

REFERRING to your Circular despatch of the 28th June last,§ drawing atten- tion to Professor Simpson's handbook entitled "The Maintenance of Health in the Tropics," and to your Circular of the 26th August,|| I have the honour to enclose copy of a report adopted by the Board of Education recommending the Government to purchase 200 copies of Professor Simpson's book, and to institute classes for teachers and pupil teachers. After consultation with the members of the Legislative Council, I directed that copies of the book be obtained at once through the Crown Agents. The cost will be defrayed from savings on the Education Vote.
