In accordance with your letter of the 8th July,* I have the honour to submit the following report on the work of the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, up to October 31st, to the Advisory Board of the Tropical Diseases Research Fund.
1. A complete list of the papers published, or in the press, since January 1st, 1905, is contained in Appendix A. to this Report.
The publishers of all the reports are Messrs. Williams and Norgate, 14, Henrietta Street, London, E.C.
2. The objects to which the grant has been applied have been particularly to further the special study of trypanosomiasis, tick fever, and other parasitology.
Dr. J. L. Todd, of the twelfth expedition of the School, is now engaged study- ing, in connection with these subjects, the large amount of material which he brought back from Africa. This work is carried on at the Associated Laboratory at Runcorn.
With a view to perfect the teaching of the School, part of the grant has been applied towards the salaries of the Lecturer in Tropical Medicine, and of the Lecturer in Economic Entomology and Parasitology. A short sketch of the work done by these lecturers is contained in Appendix B. of this Report.
3. The progress made in the various branches of study to which the grant has been devoted is fully reported in the publications named in Appendix A. Definite progress has been made in every branch, and especially in the study of trypanosomiasis.
4. A summary of the general work of the School is contained in Appendix C., and in Appendix D.† (Prospectus of the School).
