Chils. No Treaty.

Colombia Coasting trade is reserved for regulation by the laws of either country.

Costa Rica Coasting trade is excepted from the Article guaranteeing reciprocal freedom of navigation. (The Article in question is applicable to "territories, dominions, and settlements of His Britannic Majesty in Europe.")

Denmark.--Most-favoured-nation treatment is provided for in respect of navigation. The pro- vision is applicable to British "dominions."

Dominican Republic.-No Treaty.

Fouador.-Most-favoured-nation treatment is provided for with regard to navigation. The stipulation is applicable to all British Colonies, &c., except Canada, New South Wales, Victoria, and

Tasmania.

France-Coasting trade is excepted from the stipulations of the Convention of 1882, and remains subject to the respective laws of the two countries.

Germany.--No Treaty at present.

Greece-National and most-favoured-nation treatment are provided for in respect of navigation. The stipulations of the Treaty are applicable to all British Colonies, &c., except India, Canada, the Caps, and New South Wales, which Colonies did not adhere to the Treaty between Greece and the United Kingdom.

Honduras-Most-favoured-nation and national treatment are stipulated for in the Treaty ratified the 3rd February, 1900, which is applicable to all British Colonies except Canada, Newfoundland New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, Queensland, Tasmania, New Zealand, the Cape, Natal. Any of these may accede within two years from the exchange of ratification.

Italy. The coasting trade is excepted from the provisions of the Anglo-Italian Treaty of 1883, and ite Regulation consequently "remains subject to the laws which are or shall be in force in the dominions and possessions of the Contracting Parties.”

Japan-In the Anglo-Japanese Treaty of 1894, coasting trade is reserved.

Marico. Most-favoured-nation treatment is stipulated for in respect of navigation. The stipula tion is applicable to all British Colonies, &c., except India, Canada, Cape Colony, New Zealand, and New South Wales.

Netherlands-The Anglo-Dutch Treaty of Commerce and Navigation of 1837 is not applicable to the British Colonies.

Paraguay-The Treaty of 1884 provides for national and most-favoured-nation privileges in respect of navigation. The Treaty is applicable to all British Colonies, &c., except South Australia, New South Wales, Canada, New Zealand, and India.

Peru-Coasting trade is reserved for regulation by the laws of either country.

Portugal--No Treaty.

Bosmania.——Mont-favoured-nation rights are conceded in respect of shipping. This provision is applicable to British possesions, with the exception of the following self-governing Colonise, &c.— India, Canada, Victoria, Western Australia, New Zealand, Cape of Good Hope, and New South Wales.

Sweden and Norway.-Most-favoured-nation treatment, in respect of navigation, is reciprocally accorded by the Treaty as between the United Kingdom and Sweden and Norway. Nothing is said as to coasting trade in the Treaty, but the direct trade between each mother country and the foreign possessions of the other is allowed. (By a Proclamation, dated the 15th August, 1854, the King of Sweden and Norway opened the Swedish coasting trade to British vessels in return for the privilege accorded as regards United Kingdom coasting trade to Swedish vessels.)

United States.-Coasting trade is reserved in the case of British East Indies, and the Treaty of 1815 is generally not applicable to British Colonies.

Uruguay.-Coasting trade is reserved.

Venezuela.-Most-favoured-nation treatment is guaranteed in respect of navigation. The Treaty is applicable to "all British Dominions situated out of Europe.
