Notes-Conversions into £ Sterling have been male at the rate of 48, 144d. per dollar.
In accordance with the provisions of the British Preferential Tariff, dutiable artioles (except alcoholio liquors, tobacco, and refined sugar, unless manufactured from British Colonial raw sugar) which are the growth, production, or manufacture of the United Kingdom and varlons British Possessions are, when imported direct into Canada, entitled to a reduction of one-third of the duty.
(4) The figures given in columns (1) and (2) of the above Table show (wherever necessary) the imports of the articles referred to from the two principal countries, other than the United Kingdom, from which such articles are imported into the Colony or Possession.
